In an emergency, Edgewood ISD of San Antonio uses a structured reunification process to safely reconnect students with their families. Identification is verified, students are released only to authorized individuals, and every student is accounted for. We hope we never need it, but being prepared helps keep everyone safe. Sometimes frequent absences can be a sign that a student is facing challenges, such as difficulties with school, friendships, or other concerns. If your child is struggling to attend school regularly, know that you're not alone. Our dedicated teachers and staff will work with you to ensure your student feels safe, supported, and excited to learn.

Families are important partners in good attendance! Setting regular bedtimes, planning morning routines and scheduling appointments outside the school day when possible can help students avoid unnecessary absences. Thank you for helping your child get to school every day and on time!

The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) helps schools respond quickly and appropriately to different situations. Depending on the type of emergency, staff may initiate a Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, or Shelter response.

By using clear, consistent actions, students and staff know exactly what to do when seconds matter most. Practicing these responses helps create a safer, more prepared EISD.

September is Attendance Awareness Month!
Being in class matters at every grade level. As students get older, regular attendance helps students stay on track academically, earn credits, build strong relationships, and prepare for college, careers, and future success. Show up, stay engaged, and make every day count!

The Edgewood ISD Transportation Department helps students get to school, school-sponsored events, field trips, competitions, and more. Our dedicated drivers, monitors, and staff work every day to provide a safe and secure experience for students and families.
